Car Hire in Atlanta: The Modern Means of Transport

There are a large number of car rental companies in this Georgia city. Among them are Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, Enterprise, National and Thrifty. The easiest place to rent a car is Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, as the desks are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They are all located in a rental car center, with shuttles to the lots.

You can of course rent a car in the city center itself, but you will need to check office addresses and opening hours.

Rental prices vary, another reason for making the reservation before arriving. The best prices are found online with prepaid but nonrefundable bookings. Expect to spend about US$260 per week for a compact car such as a Ford Fiesta. Without a reservation, rates could be double.

To rent a car in Atlanta, you must be over 21, present a national driving licence and leave a credit card deposit. Always check the insurance options included in the price. Full-cover car and passenger insurance will usually cost extra.

Atlanta is a sprawling city and you may have difficultly navigating, so include a navigation system in the reservation. If you wish to return the car to a different branch, confirm the company’s one-way fee.
