Flying into Atlanta at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

The airport is located 16 kilometers (10 miles) south of downtown Atlanta and is adjacent to the Interstate 75, Interstate 85 and Interstate 285. If you are not travelling by car there is a station right in the airport terminal for the MARTA rail system that provides direct transportation to the Downtown, Midtown, Buckhead and Sandy Springs districts. With the high volume of passenger and aircraft traffic moving through the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport every day, the airport can be quite congested and covers an extremely large area. However, due to the huge amount of international flights to Atlanta the airport is well equipped to accommodate passengers of all types with varying needs.

The airport is rigorously maintained to an international standard to help the high amount of traffic move as smoothly as possible. Many information desks and officials, along with adequate signage, are present to direct passengers and answer questions. Several mid and upper range Atlanta hotels offer a free shuttle service to and from the airport for guests. As long as you remain calm and can handle the size of the airport and large amount of traffic, the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is reasonably easy to navigate.
